We get many questions about the various descriptions regarding Availability on our book pages. Let's see if we can clear things up!

On Our Shelves Now The on-line inventory is updated twice daily. Since we are always making sales, holding books for customers, and everything else that happens in a bricks and mortar store, we always need to verify physically if a particular book is on the shelf. Don't hesitate to order the book on line, but if you would like to come into the store to pick it up, please give us a call so we can make sure we have it in hand for you before you make your trip.

Shipped to Tattered Cover in 3 to 7 days These books are not in our stores at the present moment but are easily available to us from a publisher or distributor.

Not In Stock - Special Order (Subject to Availability) These books may not be so easily available. Our information or previous experience suggests that these titles may be out-of-print, out-of-stock or otherwise not available through the usual sources. We encourage you to order the book because we can find out what the real situation is and get back to you. Sometimes we are able to obtain a copy, or we can recommend out-of-print book websites.
