Highlands Ranch: At the age of 52, in the summer of 2004, Pam Braun was diagnosed with late-stage fallopian tube cancer and was given a 15% chance of survival and a 75% chance of recurrence. Her fierce determination to do all she could to fight her cancer led her on a still continuing expedition through the science of food and its relationship to cancer. As a supplement to her conventional cancer treatment, she created a diet eliminating foods that may cause cancer, and focusing on those that may help prevent it. Braun will discuss and sign her new book The Ultimate Anti-Cancer Cookbook ($19.99 Rare Bird Books), which brings her combined passions for good food and healthful living together.
