Parking is avilable in the parking lot off of Elizabeth or Columbine Streets. This month we’ll see the 1976 Volker Schlöndorff classic Coup de Grâce. Latvia in 1919 lived through the nasty endings of WWI, the Russian Revolution and civil war. Director Schlöndorff gets to these horrors by way of a love affair gone sour. It’s a devastating film, from the period when Schlöndorff was at his best, helped tremendously by his then-wife Margarethe von Trotta (she directed last year’s Hannah Arendt) in a leading role.
