Angels hover over the city of Berlin, listening to the dreams and fears of the human beings below. From time to time, the angels descend to earth to offer silent consolation. The angel Damiel (Bruno Ganz), wonders what it might be like to experience human-style desire and he falls in love with a trapeze artist (Solveig Dommartin). When you get in sync with the dreamy rhythms, and Wim Wenders’s touching sense of humor, Wings of Desire is a transformative film.
