Highlands Ranch: Former Days of Our Lives star Mara Purl, author of the bestselling Milford-Haven Novels, will read from and sign her newest addition to the series Where the Heart Lives (Bellekeep Books), in which artist Miranda Jones begins to trust her heart enough to escape from her
life of privilege and start over in Milford-Haven, the small town of
undiscovered beauty on California's Central Coast. She connects with environmentalist Samantha Hugo--a brilliant PhD twenty
years her senior who gave up a son years earlier; and with restaurant
owner Sally O'Mally who left Arkansas to create her own dream. Each
woman wrestles with her own core issues while balancing demanding
careers with the attentions of interesting men. None is aware that
journalist Christine Christian has just been murdered while
investigating a half-built house. Based on Purl's BBC Radio drama Milford-Haven USA.

Colfax Avenue: Thomas Cobb, the author of Crazy Heart and Shavetail as well as an award-winning short-story collection entitled Acts of Contrition, will read from and sign his new book With Blood in Their Eyes (U.of Arizona Press). On February 10, 1918, John Power, his brother Tom, and his father woke to the sound of bells and horses’ hooves. Then gunfire erupted, and so began the day when the Power brothers engaged the Graham County Sheriff’s Department in the bloodiest shootout in Arizona history. Grappling with themes of loyalty, masculinity, technology, and honor, this sweeping saga reveals the passion and brutality of frontier life in Arizona a hundred years ago. Richly authentic and beautifully written, With Blood in Their Eyes breathes dramatic new life into this nearly forgotten episode of the American West. Can’t make it to the signing?
